Welcome to my diary- a space for reflections, inspirations, and stories, written over a cup of morning coffee.

Starting small: Experimenting with biodegradable Design
In the last entry, I mentioned that I would share which product I chose to begin this journey with- and why. The answer is, in a way, quite unremarkable: a pair of simple house slippers. Not exactly the kind of product you might expect when setting out to rethink materials and sustainability. And yet, for me, it felt like the most natural place to start…
Starting the Journey: Developing Our First Biodegradable Product
For years, the idea of biodegradability lingered in the back of my mind. Not as a concrete plan, but as something I felt drawn to explore- a quiet pull to rethink what our products could be, and what they could leave behind.
About three years ago, I reached a tipping point. I wanted to move beyond thinking and actually test the idea. There was no roadmap, no clear sequence of steps- just the question: what if we could create something that not only looked good, but genuinely did good for the planet?
Rethinking Sustainability in Design
It’s not news to anyone that the term “sustainability” has been stretched to its limits. It’s everywhere, plastered across marketing materials, woven into brand narratives, used as a kind of shorthand for doing things “better.” But somewhere along the way, it has started to lose meaning and credibility. The line between genuine effort and greenwashing has become increasingly blurred, and many brands are quietly shifting away from using the term altogether, especially in how they communicate….
Creativity Through Restriction
I’ve always believed that restriction fuels creativity. Perhaps this is why I find myself leaning more toward the designer's end of the artist-designer spectrum. I thrive on solving problems within a defined set of boundaries. For me, restrictions aren’t limitations—they’re guideposts, a red thread weaving through my work that brings clarity and purpose…
Creative Rest
Einstein once said, "He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe is as good as dead." That sense of wonder is at the heart of creative rest. It’s the process of letting beauty refuel your soul…
Life Like Lego
Working with simple geometry feels like reconnecting with that childlike joy, a reminder of hours spent building, imagining, and creating. Life, like Lego, is all about piecing together the basics into something meaningful.
Human Touch 2.0 – Essentialism and Emotional Durability
People form mental representations of information and categorise concepts as a simplifying mechanism of understanding the world. Essentialism refers to the belief that there is an intrinsic essence to many entities and shapes how people perceive, value, and consequently treat objects.
Das Menschliche Maß – The Human Touch
During a recent visit to Eckard G., the printer behind more than 10,000 works of the iconic German artist Ruprecht Geiger, I left feeling deeply inspired. In his Munich studio, surrounded by Geiger’s vibrant prints, Eckard shared his thoughts on the importance of das menschliche Maß (eng. the human touch) in art and design.
The Story Behind Bemorie.
The name Bemorie is inspired by the classic memory game I often played during my childhood in Germany—Memorie. For those unfamiliar, the game involves a grid of face-down cards, each with a unique image. Players take turns flipping over two cards, aiming to find matching pairs.
